Tio Lino, Autodidact Brazilian artist

One of the most moving experiences during my trip to Brazil was the day we spent in the favella Rocinha visiting Tio Lino and the Rocinha o Mundo da Arte.

He is a self-taught artist who creates unique works from recycled materials and trash. He founded the school Rocinha Mundo Da Arte as a safe place in the community for the local children to create art projects, where they can learn life skills and practice the martial art of capoeira.

All dialogue is in Portuguese, but that shouldn't keep you for getting a taste of the local flavor.
